The White or Silver Birch is a short-lived tree and has the distinctive flaking, silvery-white bark. They are a quick growing tree reaching 7-18 m high and like to grow in light soil in an open position.
Distribution:
They grow along moist coastal areas as well as the cool/cold high country.
