Phalaris canariensis L. Common name: Canary Grass Canary grass is a mostly erect, densely tufted annual. It stands 20–120 cm tall with long flat leaf-blades that are 5–31.5 cm long and 4–16 mm wide.
Distribution: Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania. Western Australia: Irwin, Drummond, Menzies. South Australia: Flinders Ranges, Northern Lofty, Southern Lofty. Queensland: Cook, Burnett, Darling Downs, Moreton, Burnett, Wide Bay. New South Wales: North Coast, Central Coast, South Coast, Northern Tablelands, Central Tablelands, North-Western Slopes, Central-Western Slopes, South-Western Slopes, North-Western Plains. Victoria: Murray Mallee, Midlands, Victorian Volcanic Plain, Gippsland Plains. Tasmania: Midlands, East Coast.
