Chenopodium album
![]() Common name: Lamb's-quarters, white goosefoot, fat hen.
This is a non-aromatic, erect, summer annual herb. Bushy when matured and usually grows to about 1m but has been known to grow to 2m high. It grows a taproot that is very branched. The stem is erect, hairless and light green with red colouration in varying degrees. The leaves are blue or gray/green with a course toothed edge although the upper leaves don't have the toothed/serrated edge. The tiny flowers, which bloom at the ends of the branches, are green and occur from June to September while the seeds are shiny, black and horizontally flattened.

Major numbers in the Burdekin delta and moderate numbers on the Darling and western Downs, in central Qld, Moreton region and minor numbers found in northern NSW
