Cynodon dactylon

Common name: Green Couch Grass, Bermuda Grass, Doob
This is a perennial medium to low density grass that can tolerate filtered sun and is mat forming.  The flower has 2 - 6 slender spikes, 2-5cm long and 1-1.5mm wide with a green to purplish colouring.  Due to its underground rhizomes it is a very persistent grower.  It is often used as a garden lawn, on sports ovals and golf fairways.
