This weed is an annual or perennial tap-rooted herb growing to 1m high. It has bright green, usually erect growth with tooth edged leaves that are wavy. The flowers are small and green with black, horizontally flattened seeds. The above ground parts of the plant have an ant-like odour and the roots have a pungent fetid odour.
