Common name: Plane Tree

The London Plane Tree (Platanus xhispanica) is one of the most widely planted deciduous trees in Australia. It has yellow-green, serrated, lobed leaves. It is fast growing and drought tolerant and tolerates pollution, neglect and poor soils while providing plenty of summer shade.  Most of the southern Australian cities have avenues of Plane Trees. It pollinates during and around September in Sydney.
