Common name: Western Ragweed
 
The Western Ragweed is a herbaceous perennial that stands erect and can grow to 2 m high. The leaves are 5-12 cm long, soft and green with short hairs while the fruits are small burs. 
When young these plants could be mistaken for Chrysanthemum. 
 
Distribution:
 
Limited distribution at this time but it is spreading slowly. Common in some areas of Port Stephens, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.
