Amaranthus spinosus

Erect, branched, annual herb growing up to 1 m high. It often takes on a shrubby look.
The stems of Needle Burr may be reddish while the leaves are dull green. The flowers of Needle Burr are small and greenish white.
Distribution:
![]() Needle Burr can be found in stockyards, wastelands and along roadsides. It prefers warm, sunny situations along the central and north coast of NSW and the coast of Qld.
